Dual Language Immersion

Moving Forward:
Portuguese will be moved to Stansbury Junior High and will not be offered at Clarke Johnsen Jr. High or Deseret Peak High School beginning the 2025/2026 school year. Russian will be offered at Deseret Peak High School, not at Stanbury High School. The class of 2035 will be the last cohort of Chinese, German, and Russian. Students in the Spanish program from Middle Canyon will have the opportunity to attend Tooele Junior High and Tooele High. The class of 2033 DLI students that live in the Stansbury area will be the last class offered Spanish DLI at Stansbury secondary schools unless the class size becomes too small to support.

Out of Boundary (OOB):
All DLI students must submit an out-of-boundary (OOB)request if they do not live in that school’s boundary: All OOB requests will be approved if that school is the only DLI school to offer the desired language.OOB requests may not be approved if the student's language is offered at their boundary school. (Example: A Portuguese student prefers to attend Tooele High but lives in Stansbury High boundaries and both schools offer Portuguese).
